From Festo to Festool. A company history full of innovations.

1951 - The RTE Sander
1962 - The guide rail
1976 - First random orbital sander with self-extraction
1993 - The Systainer for storage & transport
2006 - The DOMINO joiner
2020 - The table saw with SawStop technology
2021 - Adhesive pads for the guide rail for sawing work on the wall

Festool System Integration
At Festool, what belongs together fits together. The Systainers serve to store tools but can also hold consumables, serve as a mobile workstation, or ensure power supply and dust extraction. The Systainers become a system because they connect with each other and can be mounted on mobile dust extractors and transporters. The dust extractors are program-wide compatible with power tools and machines. Many battery tools can even be equipped with Bluetooth batteries, so the dust extractor automatically turns on when you start the tool.
Festool places great emphasis on the ergonomics of its products. In-house test workshops subject all relevant areas to a continuous optimization process: The dimensions of power tools, the placement of controls, material selection, weight, and other factors are not determined by so-called constraints but are oriented towards the person operating the machine.
Closely related to questions of ergonomics are the areas of occupational safety and health protection. Ergonomic (easy) operability must not come at the expense of the user's health. Here too, Festool has repeatedly set standards that have since developed into industry standards: the integrated dust extraction on sanders and other power tools, the switch lockout and kickback protection on circular saws, or the SawStop-AIM technology on table saws that protect against severe cut injuries.
